Welcome to the Hunting Lodge
This canted queen post timber frame barn was built in Bluffton, Ohio around 1870. The hand-hewn beams are in exceptional condition and upon dissembling, trucking it to Texas and rebuilding it, not one of the beams needed any repair.
The 3 story water silo was custom built from the early 1920s by a South Texas oil company. The original metal straps were used on the exterior and antique brinks sourced from North Carolina were used to line the interior of the structure.
The fireplace is all hand-worked native rock excavated from this ranch
The exterior of the lodge is covered with hand-peeled bark from poplar trees which is very durable and weatherproof while adding unique character to the building. Popular siding is found on some of the main structures throughout Yellowstone National Park.
The Lodge has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms with a full bar complete with beers on tap, ice maker and bar refrigeration. The Lodge is wired for AV has Lutron lighting throughout, has high-speed fiber optic cable, ultra-efficient HVAC, water filtration and cell Phone booster. This building is by far one of the most impressive and unique barns on the ranch!
The Merritt House (Original Homestead)
Originally built in 1910 The Merritt House was the original homestead on the ranch. This home was completely restored by the current sellers and serves as guest housing. The 2 bedroom 1 bath home has a full kitchen and laundry facilities.
The Guest Cabin
This is a preferred place to stay on the ranch! This cabin was constructed of some of the extra boards and beams leftover from some of the other historic buildings on the property. This is a handmade one-of-a-kind cabin. Its a 1 bedroom w/ rock fireplace, covered front porch, full bath, a walk-in closet and a coffee bar.
The three structures create the compound with the pool and firepit in the middle. The Hunting Lodge has stub outs for a future outdoor kitchen.
